Filmmakers

UNAFRAID is the first film of husband and wife duo Karin & Eddie Venegas.

KARIN VENEGAS

Director, Producer, Editor, Additional Camera
Karin's artistic life began as a child acting in New York City's off-off Broadway theatre scene. She later graduated as a theatre major from LaGuardia High School of the Performing Arts (a.k.a. “the Fame school”). Karin holds a BA in Sociology and Spanish from Mount Holyoke College, as well as certification from the NY State Department of Health as a Volunteer Victims Advocate. In this role, Karin spent two years providing crisis counseling to rape and domestic violence victims in the emergency rooms of Manhattan's St. Luke's and Roosevelt Hospitals.

Driven by her love of language, the arts, and storytelling for social impact, Karin currently serves as Associate Vice President of the Arts & Culture practice area at the Anat Gerstein PR firm, providing communications services to nonprofit arts organizations and cultural institutions throughout New York City. Previously she served as Director of Communications & Development at the arts education nonprofit Exploring the Arts, where she served for over 10 years.
